One of the biggest innovations came in the 1980s with the introduction of auto-darkening lenses, allowing welders to maintain visibility while automatically adjusting to the brightness of the arc.

Today's helmets are designed with features that improve protection, comfort, and visibility, another reminder that safety in the fabrication industry continues to evolve alongside the work itself.
