And now, I have a lot more ideas of what I'm doing.

But it took a while!

Anyone else out there feel like there is a huge learning curve in entrepreneurship, especially when it comes to sh*tty marketing tactics and people just trying to make coin?

When was the last time a book stuck with you for weeks?

That's what this book did for me.

A stuffy man is put out of his comfort zone only to realize that he has never been truly living.

With an unforgettable cast of characters and lessons of acceptance and love, this is the best fiction I've read in 2021 so far.

When I turned the last page, I was crying, and I pulled the book to my chest. It is beautiful, and I highly recommend.

What's been a book that gave you all the feels?

When you're creating an online course, you REALLY have to think about what your learners know and meet them where they're at.

Setting the Out Of Office away message is a great feeling.

I'm on Spring Break, and I need a social media break.

I'll be around on the stories and the DMs!

Alrighty, we're over here dispelling some learning myths today!

1. One size fits all (or most): anyone who's tried on something that claims to be one size fits all knows that unless you're the median size, this is an absolute joke. Same with learning. You gotta predict that your people learn differently and act accordingly.

2. More info equals more value. I usually see this in 90 minute video modules. This is absolutely not true. So much of that is fluff. Less is often more. Or - think about delivering the same amount of content in smaller chunks.

3. Difficulty equals value. BLARGH no. The more simple you can explain something, especially in writing!!, the better. Use pictures, text, voice, and even music. Memes are a great tool (looking at you .doggy

4. Worksheets are the best. THEY ARE SO OVERUSED. Yes, you need a place to anchor your thinking but what about the doodlers the noodlers and the journalers? I beg of you, don't let the worksheet be the only thing you provide as a way for someone to anchor their thinking.

Are there exceptions to these things? Yes.

Did I address all the learning myths? No.

Are there some things here that work for a lot of people? Also yes.

I am determined to challenge you to think outside to the box to step up the online teaching and learning game.

LET'S GET TO IT.

In this inaugural episode, I talk about six reasons why adding a course to your business is A HUGE WIN.

Not that you need an additional excuse to provide support to your clients, but honestly, how many courses have you taken where you've just been a buyer and that's it?

Having a course is like a conversation opener, AND it's a way to follow up and provide additional services to your clients.

Maybe they need extra help.

Maybe they want some focused 1:1 service.

Maybe they need a nudge from the teacher to get started.

Whatever that may be, as the course creator, you position yourself as the expert and as the teacher who can follow up.

Take a listen from the link in my bio - a new episode will be up every other week!

Listen through and you can listen wherever podcasts are sold (lol or listened to but hopefully you're an 80s/90s kid).
