Fathers play a critical role in helping children feel safe, valued, and protected.
Children who have strong, supportive relationships with their fathers are often better equipped to recognize unhealthy relationships, establish healthy boundaries, and seek help when something feels wrong.
This Father’s Day, we celebrate fathers who provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing presence in their children’s lives. Their influence can help protect children from grooming, exploitation, and trafficking before it ever begins.
Prevention starts with connection.
We couldn’t do this without our local partners! Huge thank you to the city of Spokane Valley, and the Spokane Valley chamber.
Big things are coming, follow to see us turn an old strip club into a place of healing for survivors of s*x trafficking!

“We didn’t have anywhere to take her.”
The hospital sent her home. The damage came with her. And the family was left holding all of it — without a single safe place to go next.
That gap is exactly why Helping Captives exists. A safe place isn’t just shelter. It’s a daughter, a sister, a mother getting an actual fighting chance in the first hours — the hours that decide everything.
No one was created to be someone else’s.
If you want to help build that fighting chance for the next family, link in bio.
Important work happening in Spokane. Awareness is the first line of defense against s*x trafficking — an informed community is a safer one. Thank you for leading the way!
