There was a debate yesterday after catching one at Edmonds of one of 2 oil trains with Canadian National power I would go after, now this one here is an empty BNSF oil train U-AWATND(Arco Ferndale, WA-Trenton, ND) headed back east. Word was it had one of the 60 CN 100 units on the point & an Ex. Citirail trailing while the other one was one that originated on the CN near Vancouver, BC, but had just standard CN power.
This required a drive on US Highway 2 to get ahead of him, when I got to Skykomish, a miracle happened and train was stopped just short of the crossing, there was a maintenance window for work inside that 8 mile long Cascade Tunnel east of here, luckily it was only until 3:15pm & they wrapped up early. I ended up with my catch of the week here along with 2 more trains before darkness fell.
