We are speechless and so proud! Three of our teams qualified to participate at the Worlds VEX tournament in Dallas last weekend - Strike Force, Insert Name Here and Hub Grub - all rookie teams in the first year of of LTMS Robotics club! What an accomplishment! But that is not it... team [Insert Name Here] qualified for Round of 16 and placed 22nd in the Worlds Championship for middle schoolers!! Mind blowing for first time at Worlds!

We clearly have tremendously talented kids in our school and we have Mr. Wayne Ostrout (teacher of the year at LTMS!), club families and business sponsors to thank for to support our club. We are celebrating the success of these teams and all clubs students with medals and certificates at Lefty's Pizza Kitchen ATX on May 19th at 5pm.

LTMS Robotics club had one of their best tournaments today at the VEX Middle School State Championship!

Strike Force 5 + 1 qualified for Worlds Championship in Dallas! They have one of the top skills scores in the region and won the Regional skills championship award! Unbelievable talent!

The Raisins went above and beyond in their match performance, team interview, notebooking, and won the Judges Award! A well deserved win!

All of our four teams, Strike Force 5+1, [Insert Name Here], Hub Grub and The Raisins had some of the top skills scores and all of them qualified for semi finals!

[Insert Name Here] made it to the regional finals! They won their first game but it was a 2 out of 3 win match... and they didn't win the next two games. This was understandably a tough loss but we are so proud of them and their amazing team performance this season.

We are proud of all the teams and all the students of our club who participated in the tournaments and also those who did not. This has been a phenomenal year for all our rookie teams! In our eyes they are all champions.

Go LT!!

Congratulations to our teams for moving on to VRC regional middle school championship!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Strike Force 5+, [Insert name here], and Hub Grub showed tremendous teamwork and talent at the Murchison Middle school VEX tournament last weekend. Strike Force 5+1 and [Insert name here] made it to semi finals and Strike force qualified for regionals based on their Skills challenge ranking. However, based on their collective effort, robot design and performance, all three teams will be moving to regionals!

We are proud of all our club students and tremendous support we have received from all families and sponsors. A special thanks to Antonio Villa, Peter Han, and Chris Ronin for helping coach and guide the teams over the weekend.

The LTMS Robotics Club won the Judges Award!

There was a lot to celebrate yesterday at our very first VEX tournament at McCallum High School!!

Three of our teams were competing with 33 other middle school and high school teams: Hub Grub (1156A), [Insert name here] (1156B) and Strike Force 5+1 (1156G).

All three teams made it to quarterfinals. Strike Force 5+1 (1156G) made it to semifinals! Strike Force 5+1 also ranked top 10 in the Skills challenge.

The LTMS Robotics Club won the Judges Award based on the judges' interviews, our team's perseverance, professionalism, teamwork, attitude, and competition results. When we had all three LTMS teams enter the quarter finals, the judges gave our club this special recognition.

So many amazing accomplishments for a first tournament by all our rookie team members. We are so proud of all our students and their hard work over the months and look forward to more learning and competitions in the new year.

None of this would have been possible without Mr. Ostrout, our LTMS engineering and robotics teacher, and Mr. Fogel, our LTHS robotics teacher, club families and business donations to support the club.

Thank you to our amazing business sponsors:

A huge shoutout to our amazing sponsor and partner Lefty's Pizza Kitchen ATX! Jesse Lokken's generous donation helped us host our first Family Pizza Party for our LTMS Robotics students, families, teachers, and coaches.

While enjoying Lefty's delicious pizza and cold beverages, parents and students got a chance to socialize, and meet our amazing LTMS and LTHS teachers -Wayne Ostrout and Eric Fogle. The students also met a couple of our brilliant high school coaches from LTHS Robotics club - Ryan Vo and Karen Bui. Parents were challenged to solve some puzzles while students were asked to come up with team names and prepare and present a skit.

We are so thankful for the donations and support of our sponsors and families. We couldn't have done this without your help!!

The Robotics Club Room is ready and the field is set! Our 6 teams will design their robots to compete in the VEX competition this year.

The Game: VEX Robotics Competition Over Under is played on a 12’ x 12’ square field configured as seen in the picture.

Two (2) Alliances – one (1) β€œred” and one (1) β€œblue” – composed of two (2) Teams each, compete in matches consisting of a fifteen (15) second Autonomous Period, followed by a one minute and forty-five second (1:45) Driver Controlled Period.

The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing Alliance by Scoring Triballs in Goals, and by Elevating at the end of the Match.

We cannot wait to get started and see what the teams will create!
