Faith Full Farms

We have an over abundance of eggs this time of year so that means preserving them any way we can. I decided to water glass as many as possible.

They say it always snows on the buttercups. What do y’all think? I’m ok with more snow. I’m not quite ready for spring yet.

We made soap y’all!!! I was really nervous at first but Kevin helped me make our very first batch of soap using the lard from our pigs. It was much easier and a lot less scary than I thought it would be. Then a couple days later I did another batch by myself. First one is lavender and the second one is sweet orange. Now we’re waiting 4-6 weeks for them to cure before we can test them out. They smell so good. 💜🧡

It was a long day but I was able to render the pig fat and It made 2qts and 5 pints. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some really great stuff with this lard.

Getting all of our supplies ready to render the fat from our pigs last season. Looking forward to learning a new skill and not letting anything go to waste. Did you know once the fat is rendered it’s called lard and it’s high in vitamin D?
