Your Homeschool Needs a Rest Stop!

As the holiday whirlwind approaches, many of us feel like we’re sprinting to the finish line of the semester. But we need a reminder:

"Your homeschool is not a race. It’s a journey. And journeys require rest stops if you want to reach your destination in good condition."

It is okay to slow down. It is okay to lighten the load. It is okay to protect your family's peace over the pressure to finish every single lesson plan.

Your connection with your kids—the relationships you are building—is the "secret sauce" that makes all the learning possible. Prioritize that this season!

Give yourself permission to:
✅ Lean into shorter school days.
✅ Integrate holiday learning (baking is math!).
✅ Focus on growth, not just gaps.

Don't let comparison steal your joy. You are doing a better job than you think, and God's grace is sufficient for this imperfect, beautiful journey.

I love this. CC did not begin as a big flashy program. It simply began in the basement of Leigh Bortin’s home, and I’m so glad it did. Look how many generations and families have been impacted for the glory of God as a result. It’s a beautiful reminder that our lives are made up of small daily acts of obedience. Our job is not to know all the ins and outs of where that obedience will lead, but rather, we ought in faith to simply take the next step and trust the Lord.

You'll put an ad in the newspaper for an information meeting in your home, but you'll accidentally write the wrong time. When nobody shows up at 6:00, you'll be disappointed and ready to put away the snacks. Hold on. They're coming.
