It has been a truly productive and inspiring couple of weeks across our community!
Investing in Infrastructure: I was honored to join Councilman Anderson and attend the ribbon cutting for the new Washoe County School District Transportation Yard right here in Sparks. This is truly a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline operations and better serve our schools and families. ๐
Supporting Our Youth: I had a great visit to the Eddy House and joined Councilwoman VanderWell for the Wildcreek opening. A major highlight of the Wildcreek remodel is the safe and fun space designed for our students to study and workโa fantastic resource for our local youth! ๐
Honoring Our Veterans: I also toured the Liberty Dogs training area with other local representatives. Seeing firsthand the life-changing gift they provide to our veterans through their service dog program is nothing short of incredible. Their commitment to those who served is truly inspiring. ๐พ๐บ๐ธ
Celebrating Achievement: To top it off, I attended the SSHS JROTC Awards Ceremony. It was a privilege to present a proclamation to these exceptional students for their achievements and provide Certificates of Appreciation to the JROTC instructors for their dedicated service and mentorship.
Sparks is moving in a great direction, and Iโm proud to see these organizations, facilities, and students thriving!

It has been a productive week serving the City of Sparks! Here is a quick look at what weโve been working on to keep our community moving forward:
๐๏ธ City Council & Community Updates:
* Infrastructure Win: Great news! The Sparks Blvd project is ahead of schedule. We know how important this corridor is for our daily commutes, and I'm thrilled to see this progress.
* Enhancing EMS & Fire Protection: It has been great working alongside the Mayor, Dian, and Paul to explore expanded Emergency Medical Services for Sparks. As we study options to provide better fire protection, we are also focused on ensuring our community receives the most efficient, high-quality, and transparent EMS services possible.
* Public Safety Innovation: We are currently exploring the addition of single-role Paramedics to the Sparks Fire Department. This initiative is designed to help us fully staff Station 5 and restaff an engine crew, putting more resources directly into our neighborhoods.
๐ก๏ธ A Message to Our Law Enforcement:
I want to take a moment to thank our Sparks Police Department. Recently, some of our officers were faced with a dangerous and life-threatening incident that resulted in an officer-involved shooting. I am incredibly relieved that our officers and community members are safe. I stand firmly with our officers who had to make an extremely difficult decision in the line of duty to protect our city. I have and will continue to stand beside you SPD. ๐บ๐ธ
๐บ๐ธ Veteran & Community Support:
* CVMA Fundraiser Planning: Progress is well underway for our upcoming Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association fundraiser on August 1st. Mark your calendars!! We are going to do some great work for our fellow vets!
* Supporting Local: Many of our locally owned businesses have been supporting our cause to raise Mental Health Awareness and Veteran Su***de Prevention. Iโm credibility thankful to the Reno/ Sparks business for their leadership and commitment.
๐ฃ Happy Easter!
Finally, I want to wish everyone in Sparks a very Happy Easter! Whether you are spending the day at a local service, hunting for eggs with the kids, or just enjoying time with family and friends, I hope your weekend is filled with joy and renewal.๐ค๐ผ๐ซถ๐ป๐
