Another excellent letter to the Pope from Marie Fortune.

Rev. Dr. Marie Fortune has a new blog post, "Dear Pope: It's Me Again" about the creation of a tribunal to hold bishops accountable for their actions (or inaction) regarding priests who sexually abused children.

The Rev. Dr. Stuart Hubbard Hoke offered a terrific workshop on alcoholism and the spirituality of recovery this morning at Penick Village. It is the first time he has offered this workshop at a retirement community. We had a strong turnout of residents of Penick and residents in the community. I pray the seeds Stuart planted will grow and bear good and life-giving fruit in the lives of all who attended and in our community.

The new Penick Village logo! We love the logo for how it represents our deep rootedness in love, the life and growth we celebrate and live, the "stained glass window" effect in the background to represent that we are a faith-based CCRC, and the leaves that break out of the outline to show that we think and act outside the confines of the proverbial box.

We at Penick Village are excited to host our friend, The Rev. Dr. Stuart Hoke, to present this marvelous workshop. It is free and open to all. This is an important conversation for our churches and communities to have as we address individual and systemic consequences of addictions as well as support those who are recovering and their loved ones. Please call me at 910.692.0355 if you would like to attend. See below the great poster my colleague Jordan Medlin created for the event.
