Last week, students tackled exciting math projects that challenged their creativity and problem-solving skills! By applying concepts to real-world designs, they’re building confidence and expertise. Help us keep this momentum going—we’re looking for engineers and community supporters.

Tonight at Riverbend Community Math Center, our students worked through a variety of hands-on projects. One young student started designing a medallion, while the Prototyping Team tackled a challenge with the propeller project. Prototyping Team Members also got valuable training on the laser cutter and managed the snack list to keep everyone energized. We’re excited to see how these experiences help our students build real-world skills!

If you're connected with local engineers or manufacturers, or looking for ways to support STEM education, we'd love to hear from you.

Jeremy is rocking the circuits! He's experimenting with a capacitor to create a fading light. He explained how a capacitor is able to store energy so that when you stop supplying electricity to a circuit it can slowly disperse the remaining energy, creating a fading light effect.

Coding is no easy feat but our Prototyping Team member Lee is crushing it! He's creating a game to teach kids about geometry, where they will rotate, translate, and reflect shapes to match each other. So far he's used HTML, JavaScript, and SVG--incredibly impressive for a high schooler!
