The second ice cream social & story time of the summer is happening at 1pm at the library next week Wednesday!

Join us this Wednesday, January 8th at 10:30am at the library for our first Meet The Author event of 2025! Local writer Edward Weingold will be discussing his works, which include the novel A Map of the World (With All Faults), and shorter works in The Porter Gulch Review, Santa Cruz Weird, and Santa Cruz Ghost Stories. With over a 30-year career in the theatre, he has also written numerous play and staged productions in the U.S and England. Currently, he is writing a novel about jobs the main character holds to support a life in the theatre arts, with the working title, Abel’s Grit.
The Meet The Author series is an informal coffee hours where local authors discuss their works and answer questions from the audience. They are free of charge and open to the public. Coffee will be provided by The Ugly Mug. The Porter Memorial Library is located at 3050 Porter Street, Soquel, and parking is available behind The Bagelry or behind the Post Office.

Tomorrow is the second Ice Cream & Reading Social of the summer! Kids ages 3-8 are invited to join for stories all about life in the garden starting at 1pm. See you there!

A week ago Joaquin Barreto was the featured author at The Library’s Meet The Author Series. He shared his memoir, El Otro Lado (The Other Side) to many of The Library’s regulars and new attendees. On Wednesday, March 13th at 10:30 am, Lisa Jensen will share her book “Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge.”
