Gentle Giant Rowing Club

When you walk around the Mystic and Malden Rivers, be on the lookout for rowers! You can check out rowing on Saturday, June 6th from 10a-1p. GGRC is a location for National Learn to Row Day!

Forecast called for 4mph wind tonight....it was a lot more windy than that! Our scullers filled an 8 and had a solid row against the sweep rowers. We did have an amazing sunset!

We were honored to receive a Tufts Community Grant which will support the third annual Pride Flotilla. It's important for everyone to feel that they belong and this event is designed to bring everyone down to the river to take part. The Mystic River is for "EVERY BODY".

What is the Pride Flotilla? Think a Pride Parade on the water. All human powered boats are welcome to join in. Don't own one? Rent one from - they rent the from our boathouse at Blessing of the Bay! Decorate it and head out for a paddle! You can also come down and watch. This is a family friendly FREE event!

Today was a great day for a row up past Medford Square and into parts of the river we rarely row to. There was one very protective swan that didn't appreciate the visit. And we finished the practice being chased by thunderstorms.

It's the little things...a HUGE thanks to Madeline Cronin for planting flowers by our garage door. It always makes our space look more welcoming.
