It's prime day a prime time to help out some might say. Several mutual aid disaster relief funds helping out hurricane victims have Amazon wishlists with much needed supplies for sale. So if you want a slightly discounted way to help people helping people here you go

I'm not the biggest fan of Amazon but I can't deny they are efficient at getting things to people. And I don't need a Crock-Pot next day

Hi Everyone,
I am returning from my definite hiatus for August to make a BIG announcement, an indefinite hiatus. After a blowout show at the Arts at the Armory 7pm September 30th, I will be putting OnPoint on an indefinite hold while I deal with a lot of life changes going on including my engagement, health, helping with local politics and taking the time to put thought into how I want to continue serving my communities.
RSVP here:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/onpoint-improv-arts-at-the-armory-benefit-tickets-712079598247
Its been an incredible privilege to run OnPoint for 7 years getting to see incredible performers and being able to support incredible indie teams in there growth. I’ve been reluctant to close down an indie comedy venue but it seems like between Union Comedy, Atomic Comedy, and several indie shows the indie scene will not be lacking a stage anytime soon.
Its also just been my dream to be able to work with so, so many wonderful non-profits and helping support them. Even if it was only and few hundred dollars I was able to raise for them in any given month the messages I got back from some of the smaller ones it was clear that it meant so much to them and it means so much to me to not only help them but to tell people about the incredible work that they’ve done.
As far as the future of OnPoint I’m not sure yet. If it doesn’t come back it will likely be in a new form that is a bit more sustainable for me. While I do love the results and getting to serve multiple communities from a creative and financial stand point, I got burned out on the day to day work.
What am I doing personally now? Focusing on my health both mentally and physically mostly, I’ve been going through a bit of rough time and need more space to focus on getting myself together and preparing myself to move to the next stage with my family (I got engaged back in May!!) and I want to be at my best in mind and body for that. I am also getting involved in Medford politics to see if I can’t have an impact on my community in a different way. I’m also going to do a bunch of charity runs for organizations that I’ve supported with OnPoint in the past so I’m not even done fundraising. I still love my communities, both behind and front of the 4th wall and will do my best to support them.
That being said I’m not going out without celebrating I’m hosting one last big show at the Arts at the Armory on September 30th at 7pm featuring the ImprovBoston Ensemble and Classic Sly. ImprovBoston gave me my start in improv and this show wouldn’t exist without them and Classic Sly has been one of the longest performing teams on OnPoint so I want to celebrate both of them. In additional we will be raising funds for Arts at the Armory themselves so independent acts can continue to have venues to perform at.
Feel free to reach out with any Questions or comments

Hey y'all
Much like my dog attacking a pillow of her self that was a present from my mom I have some news that gives me conflicting feelings.
OnPoint is taking a break for the month of August (pause for crying). Yes for the first non-pandemic induced reason we are taking an extended break. I’ve mentioned this at our shows but we lost out spot at Remnant so that other community organizations can use the space (and actually pay rental fees). It makes sense, space is very valuable in Somerville and Remnant has a prime location and a lot of the organizations are incredible and are promoting local artists just like us so I encourage people to go check them out.
I thought I would be able to find a new location for the show in 1 month but that has proven more difficult than expected (I have emailed and called almost every brewery or bar that has a performance space). We have spaces reserved for our July shows but not past that and i’d like for us to have a permanent home.
I will be using this time to figure out what we are doing in terms of venues, right now if week-to-week we have to switch venues my plan is to tailor shows to each venue so we may have a dedicated sketch show, or musical show, rather than having everything on the same stage. But the goal is to have the same space week to week so we can build a community there. If anyone has suggestions for where to look I am open to it.
I’m very sorry to have to do this but its needed to restructure the show so it is sustainable into the future. I hope y’all still get out and perform and in September I will be back with something cool.
See ya around, stay cool and have a good summer.

OMG what a month, leading into a hot summer, we had some hot shows and ended up raised $410 for The Black Literacy and Arts Collaborative Project over the course of the month. We saw vampires, John Coltrane, several weird mating rituals, nightmares, mare nights, and of course so many wonderful friends performers and audience members. It was a great way to end our run at Brewing I will miss performing there a lot but we will continue we shall go forth into the community and do more good and more comedy. Huge Thank you to Classic Sly , Mutual Feeling, RIOT Improv , Shorts, Field Trip Sketch, Hang My Pants, Stop that Baby, Stink or Swim, Museum of Chaos, ImprovBoston and Please and S***k you. And Of course our friends and Remnant Brewing I will still be there weekly enjoying their beers and I hope you will too. I also hope you will join us in the The Greenroom on July 9th for our next show!

Hello everyone I wanted to take a moment this day to acknowledge some incredible are being created by talented POC creators in our community. The first one I wanted to highlight is Come to Pass the Musical. A hip-hop opera exploring how the Racist Effects of the past continues to affect the live of people of color today. I saw the first preview show last year and it was one my favorite things I saw all year I have seriously thought about this at least once a week and have been waiting for it to come back again. Starring and written by local hip-hop artists reflecting their own experiences into an excellent historical drama. I want this to be the next big thing so go support them
