We help parents and professionals in Somerville get strong, confident and have fun in the gym. Our training family is unique.
We take a strangely simple approach. We want you to lose fat, gain muscle, feel great and become the best version of you. We'll help you do this through our training methods, but also through helping you to blossom in a team and family environment. No judgement, no screaming and yelling or competing for the "best time." We push you to become the best version of YOU and help you to create clarity and purpose around exercise and training. You may actually have a little fun while you're at it.

Why we work on pull ups and chin ups with our clients.
Upper body strength isn’t just about how you look.

This is not a post to say get out there and coast through your workouts. ❌
This is a post about intention. ✅
What do you want out of your fitness journey, and ultimately, how do you want to FEEL?
For myself and our clients that are in their late 30’s and 40’s, and 50’s, we want to feel strong, flexible, have stamina and be able to get s**t done.
Most people don’t have time to beat themselves up every workout. They have lives and families and things to do, outside of the gym.
So here’s what we do…
👉Prioritize Strength
👉 utilize 5-7 really good exercises
👉 progress each week (either with weight, reps or just proficiency)
👉 aim to leave feeling better than when you came in
👉focus on the intention of your workout - not the duration
👉 take mini mobility breaks throughout the day if possible
Now if beat down workouts are your thing, that’s cool. I’m all for it once in a while and intensity IS important. 💪
But I do believe this is a recipe for burn out, injury, enjoying it much less and ultimately not getting the result you want.

The number one thing that stops people from starting isn't motivation.
It's fear of showing up and feeling behind.
Fear of being the most out-of-shape person in the room. Fear of trying again and quitting again.
We built DPT specifically for that person.
