Check out our totally AMAZING performers for our concert this weekend! New England Legacies: The Boston Six Reimagined, we explore the legacy of the Boston Six composers: John Knowles Paine, Arthur William Foote, George Whitefield Chadwick, Amy Marcy Cheney Beach, Edward Alexander MacDowell and Horatio Parker. Beginning with Amy Beach's "3 Browning Songs" and ending with Arthur Foote's "A Night Piece," the concert explores the legacies of these composers through contemporary works by both Boston based composers and international composers responding to the music of six of the first American composers!

BNMI is very excited to announce the winner of the 13th Annual Commissioning Competition. This year we had almost 50 applicants! Our judging panel included Evan Williams, Ingrid Stölzel and Charles Shadle.
This year's winner is Lingbo Ma! Ma will be commissioned to write a new work for BNMI’s ensemble to be performed in 2026.
We would also like to take the opportunity to recognize two honorable mentions:

Artur Akshelyan is the winner of BNMI's 12th annual commissioning competition. His new work, NOTGRIR, was written for BNMI's ensemble. The world premiere will be conducted by John Masko.
Anuj Bhutani, composer of flightpath, and Stephen Mallon, composer of The House That Jack Built, had their works selected through one of BNMI's annual calls for scores.
