A small glimpse of my weekend in Minneapolis. So grateful to my friends and hosts here. So grateful to stand witness to the beauty and power and love and care of this Upper Midwestern American city, in the Land Where the Waters Reflects the Sky. 🩵

Not pictured, but worth mentioning: my husband, who had a significant milestone occur at his own work this week; my mother-in-law, who cared for the kids and helped me around the house; my sister, who gave me a ride to the airport before the sun came up this morning; and my daughter’s preschool teacher, who always delights in her and greets her with the warmest smiles. Appreciate you all. 🫶🏼

Sharp observation, but to be fair, there are some exceptions! Some… well, definitely at least one? 😶

Just books and stuff. 🤓📚

Civic action can take many forms. I’m heartened by the folks who took to the streets this month, and by everyone engaged in their own forms of peaceful protest. May justice prevail. May the innocent be set free. May the helpers outnumber those who would inflict harm. May there be brighter, fairer days ahead. Just like the many, many startlingly blue days we enjoyed here in the PNW this January. 🩵

Happy fifth anniversary to THE SEA IN WINTER, to the Heartdrum imprint, and to all the readers who have spent time with my words. Grateful. 🤍

Grateful for this season, these merry delights, and the beauty and abundance in my life. I hope the same is true for you, too. 🎄❤️✨
