We have received several messages asking about the active fire in granite falls. This fire is being handled by granite falls and DNR. I will share updates here but you can also follow the granite falls fire page for updates.

Darrington fire update
Wildfire Update. The Suiattle Fire is approx. 200 acres originating on Washington Department of Natural Resources land and has now moved onto Forest Service lands. Joint federal and state fire personnel are at the scene. Forest Service Rd. 26 (Suiattle River Road) and campgrounds are still open but may be closed depending on fire behavior. It is advised to avoid the area due to smoke and fire vehicle traffic at this time.
