Happy National Postcard Week ✉️

And no — it’s not too late.

There’s still time to write one.

A postcard doesn’t ask for much — just a few lines, a moment of thought, and a reason to send it.

It’s one of the simplest forms of storytelling.

A message on one side
A visual on the other
Both working together to say something that matters.

Sometimes, stories don’t begin as books.

They begin like this.

If you were to design a postcard...
What would the image be?
What would you say?
And who would you send it to?

April has been a month of writing…
of letters,
of poetry,
of books.

But more than anything, it’s been a reminder to begin.
To write the letter.
To follow a line.
To put something down
before the moment passes.

Not everything has to be finished.
Not everything has to be shared.

But some things are worth keeping.
Worth returning to.
Worth not forgetting.

So if you wrote something this month,
even just a little.
Keep going.
Don’t lose it.

And when you’re ready....
You’ll know what to do with it.

Today is World Book Day…
and it made me think

Every book we’ve ever held started
As a thought.
A note.
A few words.

Not every story begins with a plan.
Some begin quietly…
in the margins,
in letters,
in moments we weren’t sure mattered.

And then, over time,
they become something more.
A book.
A collection.
Something you can hold,
Something to return to,
Something to pass on.

If you’ve been writing, even just a little...
Maybe your story is already on its way.
Start gathering your pages.
Start shaping what you have.

And when you’re ready, I can help you turn it into a book.

April is also National Poetry Month…

But maybe poetry isn’t about being a poet.

Maybe it’s about noticing.
A moment you almost missed.
A feeling you didn’t have words for...
until you did.
A line that stays with you longer

Poetry doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be true.

Sometimes… a few words can hold everything.

And sometimes, those few words become something you can hold.

If you had to write one line today, what would it say?

April is National Letter Writing Month… and there’s something about letters that feels different from everything else we write.

They’re personal.
More intimate.
More present.

Some of the most meaningful books have come from letters,
like Letters to My Daughter by Maya Angelou…
or the quiet, personal exchanges in 84, Charing Cross Road.

Words written not for an audience, but for
one person.
A daughter.
A grandchild.
A friend.
Even yourself.

I think about the grandmother who wants to write her stories before they fade… or the quiet notes we mean to leave behind…

What if those letters became something more?
A book of letters.
A collection of memories.
A legacy you can hold.

Start with one letter.
That’s all it takes.

And if you ever decide to gather those letters into a book… I’d be honored to help you shape it.

March is also Women’s History Month.

When you look closely at history, many of the voices that helped us understand the world were women who chose to write their stories.

Some began with journals.
Others with letters.
Others with songs

Writing does not always begin with publishing in mind.

Often it begins with a voice that simply wants to be heard.

Is there a woman writer who has influenced you?

03/16/2026

One thing I’ve noticed working with authors is this.

Many people carry a story for years before they decide to write it.

Sometimes it’s a memoir.
Sometimes it’s a children’s book.
Sometimes it’s a story meant for family and the next generation.

Often, the hardest part isn’t writing the book.

The hardest part is simply starting.

March, National Reading Month, is a good reminder that stories matter and reading keeps those stories alive.

If you ever wrote a book, what kind of story would it be?

03/10/2026

Every writer begins as a reader.

Most of us can remember a book that stayed with us — a story that sparked imagination or made us see the world a little differently.

Over time, that love of reading sometimes turns into something else. A quiet thought that maybe one day we might write a story of our own.

March is National Reading Month, which feels like a good moment to pause and appreciate the books that stay with us.

What book has stayed with you over the years?

02/23/2026

Clarity is a creative act.

It doesn’t arrive all at once.
It forms when you sit with an idea long enough to hear what it’s asking of you.

What stays
What needs refinement
What deserves your energy before momentum ever begins
