Jessica has been a veterinary technician at PAH for nearly 14 years and is a proud graduate of Delgado Community College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.

When she’s not caring for pets at work, you’ll find her spending time with family, tending to her ever-growing jungle of houseplants, or tackling her latest puzzle obsession one piece at a time. 🌿🧩

Leading the pack is Jax, a 10-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier better known as Jaxey Poo, who has perfected the art of being the goodest boy. Then there’s Boo, a 1½-year-old black cat with a spicy attitude and a talent for keeping everyone on their toes. Despite his mischievous reputation, he’s truly the best bad boy around.
His counterpart is Dracula (Drac), an 8-month-old tuxedo cat whose life mission is to cuddle everyone he meets.

Swimming around are the aquatic celebrities of the family, betta fish Taylor Fish and Travis Kelpee.

The newest additions are Mavis and Frankenstein (Frank). Mavis is an 8-month-old Leopard Ball Python who slithers her way into everyone’s hearts, while Frank, an 8-month-old Sulcata Tortoise, who is faster than you would think and gets lost in the yard very easily.

A week to celebrate the pets who fill our lives with comfort, joy, and sometimes a little chaos. 🐾

Veronica is a veterinary assistant here at PAH. She moved back to Louisiana from Texas over a year ago after having lived here as a child. She has worked with animals since her teenage years and enjoys taking walks, reading, and listening to music. 🐶🩷
