One "really good video" might not be the solution you think it is.

Here's why:

Many brands have approached me, stating, "We just need one really good video".

Honestly, I wish we could leverage just one video.

But brand trust is compounded over time, not from just a single post.

That’s why I recommend building out a video strategy system where you have videos for dedicated purposes:

✅ brand building
✅ breaking down complex ideas
✅ or even just keeping your brand top of mind in the feed.

So stop trying to solve all your problems with just one video.

Instead, start building out a dedicated video strategy system to help build brand trust and generate leads.

Here’s I think brand story videos are a powerful tool to build brand authority:

What is a brand story video?
✅ A brand story video is a story-first way to communicate the mission, vision, values, and leadership behind your brand.

✅ The primary goal of a brand story video is to create an emotional connection with your ideal customer.

✅ That connection solidifies your brand in the prospect’s mind and positions your solution as the answer to the problem they’re already trying to solve.

Too many brands focus on the “what” they do instead of the “why” they do it.

Your “why” is the heart behind your brand story video. It’s what separates this strategy from being another sales pitch.

Also, a single brand story video can be repurposed into months of high-performing social and micro content. Endless value.

Most people chase viral views. But, that's probably not what you should do.

It comes down to frequency vs. reach.

Seth Godin outlines the concept of "Frequency vs. Reach" in his book, Permission Marketing.

To sum it up, connecting frequently with a smaller targeted audience is far more effective than reaching a massive, mostly unqualified audience once.

Consistent content created for your ideal audience (frequency) helps you stay top of mind while educating a qualified audience.

And qualified audiences are far more likely to become customers.

"But Dan, don't more views mean more sales?"

Not really. Viral videos are a dime a dozen these days. Everyone has their 15 minutes of fame (more like 1 minute these days, thanks TikTok...).

How You Can Use Frequency
- Start by committing to a realistic content schedule. 3-5x per week is a great place to begin. Test what works, then scale.

- Get clear on your ideal audience. Who is most likely to become a customer, and what content actually helps them?

- Avoid selling in your posts. Sales content rarely performs the way you expect. Lead with value, and your audience will tell you when they're ready to
buy.

P.S. Bad content posted frequently is still bad content. Be intentional with your strategy, and never confuse consistency with spam.
