THREATS FOR HEAVY RAIN THIS WEEKEND 🌧️
Saturday evening will bring heavy rain to parts of Nebraska and southwest Iowa, but then the threats for heavy rain increases on Sunday in South Dakota. There may be some isolated flooding depending on if showers/storms form over the same places or stall over the same places.
Make sure to remain weather aware this weekend!

If you have any travel plans into parts of western South Dakota, southwestern Iowa, or Nebraska - make sure you’re staying weather aware! Severe storms will be possible tomorrow.

BENEFICIAL RAINFALL INCOMING! 🌧️
We have rainfall moving in that will be accumulating quite a bit for the weekend! Most of what you’re seeing on this map will fall Saturday night and into Sunday.
Rainfall will linger into this afternoon before more beneficial rainfall returns this weekend. The most beneficial rainfall will be occurring overnight Saturday and throughout the day on Sunday. This will also keep temperatures much colder on Sunday with highs only in the 60s to barely around 70 for many! Check out the hour by hour Futurecast going all the way through the weekend:

LATEST RAINFALL FORECAST
We’re going to continue to see some spotty showers move in this evening and again tomorrow, but better chances for Saturday evening and into Sunday.
The chances for heavier rain have increased to the south on Saturday evening especially.
After a rainy and cooler Sunday, we’ll have more chances for rain next week too. We need as much as we can get!

THE JULY OUTLOOKS ARE HERE!
The latest outlooks released by the Climate Prediction Center for July looks to favor near normal temperatures and near normal to slightly below normal precipitation in northern South Dakota and into North Dakota.
Another round of those pop-up showers and storms will be moving in this afternoon and again for Friday too. More beneficial rain will look to move in for Saturday. The severe weather threat will be very low which is good news! Any rain that falls today and tomorrow won't be much, but the chances for higher rain expands on Saturday along and south of I-90. LATEST DROUGHT MONITOR
As you’d imagine, the drought conditions have worsened over much of the region. The good news is we do have some rain in the forecast for this weekend which does look to target areas along and south of I-90 in some of the hardest hit areas.
