Performance Builders: focused on net zero energy and passive house-like high performance homes.
It’s ALL in the DETAILS.
in addition to a dedicated floor drain, we lowered the mechanical room floor by 2 inches. If a leak ever happens, that small step helps keep water contained to the mechanical room instead of spreading throughout the basement.
It’s another simple detail that’s built with intention and the unexpected in mind.

It’s the details you hope you NEVER need that matter MOST.
Water heaters and other mechanical equipment don’t last forever, and if they ever leak the damage can add up quickly. That’s why we install a dedicated emergency floor drain in our mechanical rooms… Just in case.
It’s a simple feature that most homeowners will never think about, but if it’s ever needed, you’ll be glad it’s there.
Building an airtight home is only half of the story… Managing the airflow is what keeps it performing at its best.
Airtight doesn’t mean airless, it means every bit of airflow is intentional.
Here we’re installing two A. O. Smith heat pump water heaters.
These A. O. Smith heat pump water heaters are designed to maximize efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and support the overall performance of the home. Unlike traditional electric water heaters, these units pull heat from the surrounding air and transfer it to the water, making them a much more energy-efficient option.
High-performance homes need high-performance ventilation.
Because this home is built extremely airtight, we’ve installed a Brink ERV to deliver fresh air where it’s needed and to remove stale air from ares like kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.
Better air quality. Better comfort. Better living.
Small detail. Big impact. Every pipe, wire, and pe*******on in a home’s exterior creates an opportunity for air and moisture to enter. By properly sealing and flashing these areas, we create a continuous air and weather barrier that improves energy efficiency, durability, and overall building performance.
In this new build we did a double wall for our wall assembly, the inner wall, which holds our v***r control layer, primarily serves as a service wall to eliminate pe*******ons in the air and v***r control layer
Inside look at how we install our European flangeless windows.
What’s the purpose of our mounting blocks and the 1x4s behind the siding?? Let’s take a closer look at our siding process & all the details that go into it
Behind the stone & brick it’s common for the wall sheathing to rot out, especially in humid climates to eliminate any moisture that could get trapped. In order to prevent that we have our rain screen assembly, followed by another layer of waterproofing, and a drainage cavity to eliminate the bulk of any moisture that could get trapped
