Most of us would prefer a straight path.

Yet some of our deepest learning happens through change, disruption, disappointment, and unexpected turns in the road.

An examined life does not ignore these moments. It pays attention to them. It asks what God might be revealing, shaping, or inviting through them.

And perhaps most importantly, it learns to tell the story with grace.

As you reflect on your own story, what tone do you hear in your inner voice? Is it the same tone God carries toward you?

As a companion to this reflection, we've created a Spotify playlist called Twists and Turns—a collection of songs for the winding roads, unexpected transitions, and surprising ways God meets us along the journey.

How do you see yourself?

Many of us carry a story shaped by our mistakes, regrets, or shortcomings. But Jesus sees something more.

In John 4, the Samaritan woman says of Jesus, "He knows me inside and out." Known completely. Loved completely.

What if your story is not defined by your worst moments, but by the ways God has been present, at work, and faithful throughout your life?

In this week's At the Table, Keith Anderson reflects on identity, grace, and the unique story God is telling through each of us.

Vocation is not only about career or about calling as something reserved for a few special people. It is about the whole of life offered back to God.

Some lives seem to follow one clear path of service. Others feel more like a collection of odds and ends—work, relationships, disappointments, gifts, responsibilities, and unexpected invitations. But God can receive all of it.

The question is simple and searching:

How can I offer this life of mine to you, Lord?

Did Jesus practice work-life balance?

Maybe not in the way we talk about it today. But the Gospels show us a pattern in Jesus’ life: identity, ministry, prayer, solitude, belonging, worship, and rest.

In this week’s At the Table post, Keith Anderson reflects on the deeply human practices that nourished Jesus—and how they invite us to pay attention to our own need for God, community, and quiet places of belonging.

Jesus rejoiced and celebrated with so many people because he knew what his Father was doing in their midst—he was, in and through his life, living out God’s compassionate rescuing, mending, and resurrecting work.
