Creating safe spaces to be seen, heard and celebrated We can choose what we release, transform or share. We can change the narrative.

Through the healing art of storytelling, we can make meaning of our lives, make sense of the world around us and connect more deeply with others and ourselves. Beacon Story Lab produces live storytelling events where community members explore what the night's theme means to them in 10 minutes or less. You don't need to be a professional writer, performer or public speaker to participate. Founder a

We're closing a chapter. This weekend will be the series finale for us.

Ally Karsyn started this 9 years ago. Since then, over 200 community members have shared their true stories on stage. This has always been held as a safe space to be seen, heard and CELEBRATED.

So now, we celebrate!

Join us one last time at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 16 at Design West, 1014 Design Place, in downtown Sioux City.

We welcome true stories and poetry, plus prose, show and tell, comedy, acoustic music or any other creative expression that reveals something meaningful about you. What you share can be read from a page, memorized or told like you'd tell it to a friend.

We're looking for honesty, not perfection. You can only do it right! No experience is necessary to participate.

Time slots are up to 7 minutes. Sign up at the event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Open mic starts at 7 p.m.

Admission is $10 cash at the door.
