Wishing everyone a Happy Memorial Day!

A simple gesture can have a big impact on someone's day. This year our SunRaisers Committee selected Cards for Hospitalized Kids as one of our companywide Community Involvement projects. Taking a few moments out of our day to make a handwritten card to help bring a smile to the face of someone who truly needs it was an easy, fun, and meaningful project.

Thank you to the Sunland Team Members who volunteered last Saturday morning and participated in the United Way of Greenville County's 2024 Hands On Greenville Day. This year the team helped freshen up the walls of Berea Middle School.

This morning our President & COO, Hari Sivaprakasam, helped kicked off Day 1 of Frontline Leadership Training with The Perritt Group. Sunland's Cohort 11 is a talented cross-functional group of team members from across our network. We are grateful to provide them with the opportunity to learn from industry experts, connect with one another, & grow as leaders.

With the DMAIC model approach, a cross-functional team at Sunland is focused on a project charter using automation to improve the process and technology of stretch wrapping outbound pallets at one of our operations located in Greenville, SC. The purpose of the project is to:

• Improve Safety by keeping operators on the forklift while wrapping equipment is in use.

• Increase capacity to support customer daily order variations during peak volumes while avoiding over-time costs.

• Reduce material waste to improve sustainability and generate costs savings.

Our team is excited to implement the automation, audit & measure the results, and then expand the best practice in other sites across our Sunland network.

Thank you to our team members at our Hampton Park & Victor Hill sites in Greenville, SC for leading a project to collect & deliver supplies for their local fire department. We are grateful for our brave first responders and our wonderful Sunland Team Members!

Shout out to our Sunland Team Members who recently completed A3 Training at our Milan, TN location.

The A3 methodology is named after the A3-size paper that is typically used to document the problem-solving process. It's a visual tool that encourages concise and focused problem-solving by presenting information on a single sheet of paper, which helps teams communicate effectively and track progress efficiently. A3 thinking promotes a culture of continuous learning and improvement within organizations by encouraging collaboration, data-driven analysis, and systematic problem-solving.

We thank this group for embracing our learning organization value & look forward to seeing the impact of the A3 projects they lead!
