Its funny how the nicknames we make for our dogs evolve. Tuesday was Tuey and Tuza-palooza and Tue-nesia long before she became Tuki (and thus tuki bear and tuki bean). Which of course then evolved into song, because Scotty and I were always weird like that. So, if you too know the sweet comfort of the darkened, air-conditioned Tiki Room on a hot day at Disneyland, may I present… In the tuki tuki tuki tuki tuki room!

They say grief comes in waves… but maybe for just a quiet afternoon, could I please get out of the ocean, lay in the warm sand, and not be tossed about? Also, can I not worry about sunburn and dehydration in this fantasy scenario? Cool, thx, bye. 🌊🌊🌊

Don’t mind me… I’m just gathering small pieces of beauty wherever I can find them (and sitting my dog in front of them!) to get me through hard days and to remind myself that there is still something worth noticing and celebrating in this world.

We did some gardening yesterday. Well, Mahm got sweaty and dirty and Tuesey just barked… but… I read somewhere that when you are going through a deep loss, that helping something to grow is a healthy path forward, so we’re gonna try to keep some plants alive. And if we don’t, thank goodness has a great selection of clearance ones so we can try again 🤣

Today is the day CA! Make sure you drop off your ballot at a polling place or official dropbox by tonight. (It’s too late for the mail as it might not get postmarked today 😲) There are some very interesting races besides governor, and I’m happy to chat if you’re still undecided 💜

A friend texted me just to say hi… I responded that I had made it through May (it was tough!) and her response was just perfect: “Yay! You did it! And for a reward you have to keep doing it!”
So, here’s to a June that is hopefully kinder to me than May was, and to keeping doing it… whatever that brings.

With all due respect to TLC, I think I will go chasing waterfalls… because the rivers and the lakes that I was used to seem to have dried up and died 😢

I often find myself saying, “Oh Tuesday, what are we gonna do?” I say it in the morning, in the car pulling into the garage, at night before bed… What are we gonna do now? Now what? How will we live now that the worst thing imaginable has happened? But I guess that’s just it. We’re gonna live. We’re gonna figure it out somehow. Today marks four months since Tuesey has seen her daddy alive. Your girls are gonna live Scotty, but we miss you every day.

What if we talked to ourselves like we talked to our dogs? 💖💜💝
