Today I went to complete a notary job for an individual at Santiam Hospital in Stayton. This guy was just placed on hospice and is expected to return home for his remaining days with his care team of family and providers. The family wanted me to complete 3 power of attorney documents (the same documents 3 times). I suggested they just do one and then make photocopies, reduces cost and less signing for the individual as he's weak. These folks were really impressed that I would suggest something that reduces my payment. I explained that I'm not wanting to take more from folks than needed. The family members recommended me to the hospital case worker, I passed along a few business cards. I love being a notary, I get to meet folks who might be going though some rough stuff, and I get to complete a needed task for them and hold space for folks who are potentially passing through a difficult time.
