MONDAY was “Favorite Bug Day” at Country Meadows; it appears that the Lady Bug won—although we did have a few butterflies, as well!

Today, Country Meadows honors all our veterans; we are proud of our own Cristie in housekeeping. She is an 11 year veteran of the Armed Forces. She served in the Navy for two years and nine years in the army. The shirt is from the last division with which she served. Note the flag on the sleeve—it looks backwards; but it is the way the flag flies when being carried into battle. Thank you, veterans, for your service!

Celebrating all things Halloween and Harvest this week—Black Cat Day, Bat Appreciation Day, and Pumpkin Day. The cats in the kitchen were pretty cute, but JoAnn wins Bat Appreciation “wings down!”

For “Pink Hair Day” Jaime was the only one who actually went pink--the residents did a remarkable job of “pink hair”—and then there was “Pink One and Pink Two” (apologies to Dr. Seuss!)

Today we observed favorite football players and teams—except for Bee, who isn’t much into football, but loves the holiday accessories and entertained us with her candy corn puppet. And we celebrated National Chocolate Day. The residents surprised the activity director with a lovely bar of chocolate but insisted that the gift be wrapped, so they proceeded to wrap the recipient holding the chocolate!

Country Meadows welcomes a new face to our campus this fall—named by the residents, Mr. Bones Jangles has been greeting everyone with a smile as they come to the Barn. He’s looking quite seasonal with his new accessories, and someone thoughtfully provided him with a mask.

The winding path between Country Meadows and Clearbrook Inn is lined with luscious lacecap hydrangeas nestled beneath the maple trees. Pink and blue flowers make the day seem brighter, even with the cloud cover. Our Encore Silverdale campus is a beautiful place to call home.
