I tried cleaning the paint off the doorknob for the little room by putting them in a pan of boiling water and baking soda. The paint actually came off pretty easy. I then used some barkeepers on them to clean up some more. I thought that they were brass or gold because the back of the plates were kinda gold but alas ‘‘twas not the case. Looks like spray paint will be next. Just need to decide if I’m doing black, gold, brass or silver. Chris votes for black so we’ll see…
Working on putting things away from our excitement Saturday night. Before bed Chris went into the bathroom which was flooded. The hall carpet was soaked and the little closet where the furnace is was also flooded. He shut the A/C off and I broke out the mop & bucket. After getting that mess wiped up I got my little Bissell upholstery cleaner to try to suck up the water in the carpet. Talk about time consuming and not feeling very productive. I think the carpet is still drying out but he’s probably gonna have to pull it out sooner than later. Thankfully the next morning the A/C guy came and fixed it. Not sure what was wrong exactly but whatever it was it’s working now and the air works at our house. Thank goodness for tradesmen who know their job.

The water heater room shelves filled up. Progress.

Chris’ newest project was putting up shelves in the water heater room. He took out the window, sided the opening after closing it in, painted the room then decided the door needed painting also. He worked hard getting it done. While I was in Texas with the grandkids he put the storage totes in there.
Well we haven’t been “Floridians” for a whole year yet and Chris got a letter for jury duty! He has to report on Monday. 😆

I tackled Grandma’s dresser that’s been in storage for 4 years and was looking kinda sad. I had called about having it professionally refinished but when the quote came back at $2000 I decided I would attempt it and if it didn’t work there was always painting it. I cleaned it really good, used Restore a finish and then Feed and Wax. Since I have never done this before I figured using a sander was probably not a good idea 😆 Afterwards I used peel and stick wallpaper for the drawers in a poppy print and put on new hardware. I’m quite pleased with myself and I only had one oops! Well two if you count putting the hinges on the wrong way…
It’s now refilled and I have a real dresser again.
Well the compressor for the A/C went out in the Equinox and there was a hole in the back left tire! Thank goodness for James at Chiefland Tire & Auto Service! It’s all good now.

When I was sitting at the dining room table I noticed this gecko on the window. I wasn’t expecting him to be INSIDE! I kept a close eye on him so when Chris got home from the gym he could be a hero and take him outside! Thankfully he did just that. Not sure how or when he got in but glad he’s been evicted.
