Our biggest Block Party yet! 🎨✨
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for the Arts on the Block Party. Thanks to your incredible energy and generosity, we hosted over several attendees and raised $800+ to support our creative community!
It was inspiring to see our craft tables overflowing and to showcase the talent of 13 local student artists from high schools across Montgomery County, including JFK, Blair, Rockville, Springbrook, The Ridge School, Walter Johnson, and Wheaton.
🚀 What’s Next?
Apprenticeship Applications are LIVE: Our Summer Arts Apprenticeship is now accepting applications! Please share this opportunity with the creative teens in your life.
Finish the Vision: One of our Montgomery County Department of Transportation (DOT) commission works-in-progress was on display during the Block Party, and we need your help to bring it to the finish line.
Didn’t make it? You can still support our upcoming summer programming and help us empower the next generation of artists by donating!
Let's keep the momentum going!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that AOB alum and visual artist Rose Jaffe has been elected as our new Board Chair.
Rose’s journey with AOB began as a student, where she first explored the intersection of art and community. Today, she is a renowned muralist and illustrator whose work—including the iconic Ruth Bader Ginsburg mural—defines the D.C. landscape. Rose is a living testament to the career pathways AOB strives to create for every young creator.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our immediate past chair, Jason Hofberg. Jason’s leadership and years of dedicated service have been instrumental in navigating our growth and move to our new Silver Spring studio. His impact will be felt for years to come.
🎥 Watch the video to hear Rose share how AOB launched her career and her vision for our future.
This video was filmed, produced, and edited by Action Youth Media. As a media arts and workforce development studio, their vision for empowering young people through professional skill-building aligns perfectly with AOB’s mission to launch the next generation of creative professionals.

Thank you to the 66 people who showed up yesterday. 🧡
On GivingTuesday, this community raised $9,935 for our Spring apprenticeships—that's two-thirds of our $15,000 goal. These 66 donors invested in comprehensive training that goes beyond art-making to build sustainable creative careers.
Your gifts make possible:
✓ Paid apprenticeship opportunities
✓ Professional portfolio materials
✓ Real client projects that build experience
✓ Training in project management and client communication
We're continuing to raise funds through year-end to reach our full Spring capacity. If you've been thinking about supporting Arts on the Block, we're still $5,065 away from our goal: https://artsontheblock.networkforgood.com/projects/198239-aob-donation-page
To the 66 donors who gave yesterday: You made a tangible difference. Our Spring apprentices will benefit directly from your investment.
Thank you for believing in this work.
