All of our campers did an outstanding job adjusting to the first week of hybrid activities. Join us in giving a special shout out to our Dream Camper of week 1, Xavier!
Not only did X have perfect attendance, but he also helped his peers solve problems, was an active listener when others were sharing, expressed empathy + patience + compassion, and stepped out of his comfort zone as he met new friends online and jumped right into shared activities!
Way to go Dream Campers!!

Dream Academy D.C. Summer Camp has gotten off to a fantastic start!
During Week 1, Dream Campers learned new yoga techniques, participated in coding, and the The Art of Music. We also had hands on Arts & Crafts activities with our learning kits curated by Ms. Palmer, and of course academic refreshers to keep our skills sharp throughout the summer!
We ended our week of virtual and in-person activities with an Ultimate Gaming Truck Experience - Not even the rain could keep us from finishing our first week of learning and FUN together with friends from our Baltimore Dream Academy Learning Center and some of our Mentors!
Week 2 is underway and we can't wait to share the exciting things happening!

Happy Monday :)
Please take a moment to enjoy the work of black artist/writer Langston Huges.
"I Too"
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I’ll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,
“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.
Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—
I, too, am America.
