Sandra Pérez-Ramos [.sandraperezramos] is a Puerto Rican artist and community art leader working in the Washington, DC metro area. She is a Resident Artist in Gallery 209, affiliated with Artists & Makers Studios in Rockville, Maryland. Sandra explores magical thinking and eclectic, spiritual mythologies within the context of the Caribbean region and its complex, mixed culture and history. Her body of work includes drawings, fiber arts, installation, murals and public art.
Pérez-Ramos' work will be featured in two upcoming collective exhibitions:
1) "Women Artists of the DMV" at the Katzen Arts Center, American University (Washington, DC), curated by Lenny Campello. This will be the first large-scale, multi venue, major survey showcasing the work of 300+ select, active female artists from the region. Dates: September through December 2025, reception TBD.
2) "Invisible Stitches: Out of One, Many" at Brentwood Arts Exchange (Brentwood, MD), curated by Wilfredo Valladares. This 5 artist exhibition highlights the subtle yet profound ways in which heritage, cultural migration, displacement and invisible connections shape identities across borders. Dates: September through October, 2025. Reception: September 6, 5- 8 pm. Art talk: October 11, 2- 4 pm.
