Self Mastery/Self Defense - accepting new adult students. Register for our Fall Session now! All of our classes are open to the public.
You don't need any prior experience or fitness level in order to start training in the martial arts! Training Uechi-Ryu Karate will help you develop your balance, coordination, concentration, strength and overall physical fitness - while providing you with the fundamental skills of effective self-defense. Day 3! Our thanks to everyone who came and to all our generous donors who helped cover event costs for the inaugural Fall Uechi-Ryu Koshukai. This was truly a community event!

Day 2 of the Uechi-Ryu Koshukai! Stanley Crump and Connor from Okinawan Karate Dojo led a great session on Uke, Chris Cox , Bob Kaiser, and David Fisher led the group through sticky hands and yakosuko kumite, and everyone had a blast playing with chi-ishi!

About me:
I began my Uechi-Ryu training at age 14 under Ray Soltis, a student of Ken Washington, my current instructor. I was promoted to Shodan under Gushi Sensei's Ryukukaku organization. My most recent promotion, to the rank of Godan, was while visiting Okinawa and was conferred with the honorific Shihan designation under Irei Ramses's association.
I opened my school, Toma Dojo - True Karate Karate in June of 2008. Like any good teacher, my favorite past time has become bragging about how awesome my students are!

Great day of training with a great group of Uechi-ka at the WKA-hosted regional workout! Thank you to all the participants and sensei for a fun-filled day of training!
We hope to see you again at our Oct 3-5 Uechi-Ryu Koshukai—open to all ranks and associations!
