In November, CMS published revised guidance for long-term care (LTC) surveyors. The 900+ page document, currently scheduled to take effect March 24, 2025, indicates an increased focus on unnecessary psychotropics and chemical restraints, among other areas. Nursing home administrators, staff, and behavioral health providers must ensure they are addressing these areas to avoid surprises during their next survey.
