CPV Towantic plans to permit, build, and operate a new 785 megawatt (“MW”) combined-cycle electric generating facility in Woodruff Hill Industrial Park in Oxford, Connecticut. The project will fueled by clean natural gas and state-of-the-art technology, including two combustion turbines (“CT”), two heat recovery steam generators (“HRSG”) and one steam turbine (“ST”) capable of producing electricity in a highly efficient and environmentally friendly manner. Significant Environmental Benefits
Minimal Water Use: The project will be air cooled, resulting in facility water requirements that are a fraction of traditional facility needs. Efficient Combined-Cycle Technology: The combined-cycle technology is approximately 30 percent more efficient than conventional electric generation technologies.. Clean Natural Gas: Safe and reliable natural gas produces a fraction of the emissions of traditional power facility fuels. About Woodruff Hill Industrial Park
The 300-acre Woodruff Hill Industrial Park is situated on land that was acquired by the Town many years ago. Environmental protection is balanced with creating value for the Town of Oxford by preserving a large, unfragmented corridor of town-owned open space.
