"Bedroom Beat"

The last track off Pillow Talk. It seemed only fitting to make this last one with .chelle while we were in Portland this winter, before parting ways for our own individual adventures. I thought about using footage I shot in portland to pair with it, but ended up deciding against it. The song feels like home to me, and so I used shots from 2 places that make me feel that way. The trees are at the park across the street from where I grew up in Maryland. Nolte Park, where I spent most of my childhood on the swings. I'm writing this post from my childhood home so I can schedule it before heading to Cabrum Portugal, where the fire scene was shot last year. I'll be there for at least a month, mostly off grid in the forest. Hopefully returning with more sounds, more video, and a quieter mind.

"Kiss Your Face"

I recorded these snowy footsteps and shot this video when .chelle and I were visiting one of my oldest friends - - and his partner - - where they live in Idaho right by the Grand Tetons.

Jack was actually the inspiration that set me on the path of making music some 15 years ago in Olympia Washington. had dragged me out of bed and to a party where Jack happened to be playing under his GuDa moniker. After the cops came and all the high school kids who had crashed the party ran away, we had a blast getting down to the bass music he made and played saxophone over. If you listened to my album release last year, him and I made the closing track - Gentle Groove - in his studio in Idaho. Jack is also a founding member of and is responsible for bringing and myself into the studio together on that fated day roughly 4 years ago. Love you Jack!

"Small Changes" - the third track off my Pillow Talk EP. An exploration in minimalism that still leaves space for full bass and movement.

This was shot at Arches National Park where .chelle and I stopped during our road trip last year. Field recordings of tumbling and footsteps from the hike pair nicely with the spaciousness of the place.

The last of these little meditations for a while... I'm headed off in a few days, back to Cabrum in Portugal where this video was shot. I'll be releasing some new music in a couple weeks here so stay tuned, but in the meantime remember...Our time is precious. I hope you're enjoying it.

Today's moment of is once again from Mirleft, Morocco. This place offered me a real sense of stability in a time that was filled with a lot of movement and uncertainty. I was on the fence about posting this one because I messed up the shot a little bit, but that's what makes it human. Hopefully I'll make it back to someday to try again.

Today's moment of meditation is from a snowy sunrise at Crater Lake. There's something about this place that has always felt quieting to me. Grounding. Soothing. Can a place be gentle? Or is that something we just project onto it?

Todays meditation is from Mirleft, a little beach town in Morocco where I lived for a few weeks last spring. One of my favorite things about staying there was watching the sunset from this balcony at

When it got hot I would hang my hammock over the creek and dip my toes in the water.
