Maryland NPO Sales Tax Exemption Renewal

The current sales tax exemption certificate for nonprofit organizations, including churches, will expire on September 30th, 2017. The due date for the renewal application is August 1, 2017 and can be renewed every five (5) years. If you did not receive a notice, you should contact the state and get your application filed online by August 1.

Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangements(QSEHRA).

QSEHRA is a method that small employers who do not provide Group Health Insurance can use to pay for medical expenses or health insurance premiums for employees or employees' families. A small employer is an employee with 50 or fewer employees. This plan should be provided to all employees on the same terms. However, you may not include exceptions to part-time employees or non-resident foreign employees whose service period is less than 90 days. In addition, the amount must not exceed $ 4,950.00 per year for an employee ($ 10,000.00 for a family member). Employees are not eligible to receive subsidies from the government to receive health insurance premiums from their employers, but they should notify the Marketplace.
