First day of year 9 of teaching is done! We read, colored, built towers, and most importantly everyone went home on the correct bus!

Six days until teachers are back in the building and 13 days until the first day of school! These books by have been my only school purchases so far!
I am excited to switch up my first day read aloud with “A Teacher’s Top Secret!” This will be my third year teaching about Alpert for making great illustrations. I know the kids will love this book!
Z is for Zoom Out! We had a great last day playing fun summer games and remembering our favorite parts of kindergarten!
What a year!
With two days left in school energy was high but we tried to stay calm and do some yoga!
We did two and drew pictures of where we feel the most calm! 🧘♀️

We spent more time out of our seats then in them for X is for eXercise Day! We did lots of dances, read a book about the importance of exercise, and watched a video of kid’s interviewing a body builder!
Too bad it was 80 degrees in our classroom!

Friday was W is for a Wish Day! We are almost done with our third Magic Tree House book where Jack and Annie make wishes to travel to different places and times. We wrote about where we would wish to go if we had a magic tree house!

Today has been my favorite day of !
V is for Volcanoes! We read a bunch of books and drew a volcano but the exciting parts were the livestream of the Geldingadalir Volcano in Iceland and went on a VR field trip to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. The students LOVED checking on how the Geldingadalir Volcano changed throughout the day!

Yesterday was U is for Under Water Day! It was a virtual day so we kept it simple by reading “The Race That Humbled Rumble the Humboldt Squid” and compared the story to the facts we learned about Humboldt Squid from Nat Geo!

Today we read “Ms. Nelson is Missing” and decided what rules the kids would make if they were the teacher. Most of the rules centered around extra recess, pizza, and chocolate milk!
