That Dog Samson

With great sadness, Samson passed over the rainbow comfortably in my arms on Friday, December 29th, 2023, at 10am PST.

It was one of the most challenging choices, but after many months of seeing him struggling to hide his pain, and the bad days were becoming more common than the good, it was time to set him free.

To everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful beast, you’ll likely agree that he wasn’t just a good boy but a massive influence in my life and many others. He came into my life when I had nothing and cared about nothing, and he helped me see the world again in a new positive light amid the hard times. I have become a better human because of my dearest companion, Samson.

Samson was a lover through and through, and even if you didn’t get a chance to meet him, he probably still loved you. He rubbed off all his love on me over the last eight years while I was privileged to be his human companion. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without him.

Even with his quality of life declining, Samson loved eating to the very last day, so I set him off with all the treats I could throw at him, lots of forbidden human foods, and dinner and breakfast with chopped-up sous vide filet mignon.

Samson was 14 years old as of August 2023. 💔

Please give your dogs and other furry friends a hug and a kiss from Samson. I am going to miss having Samson nearby.

Today is Samson’s 14th birthday! 🎉🎈

He’s still that same ol’ dapper boy with good spirits. Only slowed down by his back half, he still wants to chase lasers, go on walks, and play with dogs, but only with long naps in between.
