I'm sure everyone knows that cold weather is coming in this weekend. Starting Saturday we will see low temperatures in the teens and likely close to 48 hours below freezing.

Here is a quick checklist for commercial and residential property owners to prevent property damage:

• Cover outdoor faucets and exposed pipes
• Insulate or protect any plumbing in unheated areas
• Keep the heat on, even if the building is unoccupied
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
• Check irrigation systems and exterior plumbing
• Have a plan in place if power is lost (I.E. Back-up power supply or generator)

Taking these steps can help prevent burst pipes, water damage, and unnecessary claims during freezing conditions.

Exciting News from BuiltRite!

We’ve launched a new local networking community, right here on Facebook — NTX Referral Exchange!

If you’re trying to grow your business through networking, then you know it can be difficult to make it to every meeting or attend multiple groups at one. And for many of us, we enjoy the networking culture, but may struggle to shine in a in-person setting.

We designed NTX Referral Exchange for North Texas professionals who want to grow their network without the worrying about traffic and want to stay connected when we're not in our regular meetings. Our group will meet virtually for convenience, but we'll also stay connected between meetings through ongoing participation, member spotlights, and hopefully quarterly in-person pop-ups.

We’re currently looking to grow the group with more engaged, community-minded professionals. If that sounds like you — or someone you know — reach out for more information or request an invite to join!

We'll be sending out polls soon, to determine how often and what time to start hosting our virtual networking events!

My name is Tim Ervin, and I'm the founding agent at BuiltRite Risk Solutions.
I grew up in Plano, Texas, and now call the McKinney/Melissa area home. My wife, Katie, and I have three young daughters and a host of pets. I’m a Dallas Stars and Cowboys fan, and I enjoy playing music and attending concerts when time allows.

I started BuiltRite Risk Solutions to give local businesses and non-profits the same personal relationships they’ve come to expect from their personal insurance brokers. We’re committed to working closely with our clients to understand the risks they face and to build insurance programs that fit their individual needs.

We’re excited to announce the opening of our new office location in downtown Sherman, TX! We’re now located at 200 N. Travis St., Ste. 419, Sherman, TX 75090. Along with that, we’ve also been working on a new website: builtriterisksolutions.com

We’re also developing new marketing materials, which will be coming soon! Up to this point, we’ve been a pretty quiet agency, but we’re excited to change that in the coming months. We look forward to connecting with new people and businesses throughout the greater Sherman area!
