Last week, something pretty special happened.

During the Sherman Chamber’s Plug In Texoma, Dr. Gundersheimer was surprised with the Helen Keller Award from the Lions Sight Restoration Foundation of District 2-E2.

This award recognizes those who go above and beyond to help provide vision care to individuals who may not otherwise have access to it. It’s named in honor of Helen Keller, whose legacy continues to inspire the Lions Club’s mission to prevent blindness and support sight programs around the world.

Dr. Gundersheimer has quietly worked alongside the Lions Club for years, helping connect patients in need with essential eye care services. No spotlight. Just a genuine commitment to making sure people can see clearly and live better.

He was truly honored and a little caught off guard by the recognition.
