New projects for next year. A couple of garage sale finds that were given to me and a vintage reel that I would like to clean up. Looking forward to diving into some more bamboo fun.

Here it is. The finished working man’s bamboo rod. I have been working on this beauty all summer. From ugly duckling to fine fishing machine. It’s a 9 foot 7 weight and I had a blast re finishing it. This was a great quick read this last week. I highly recommend all books by John Gierach. I have been a fan of his work for a while now. In classic fashion this book did not disappoint, more importantly I learned a ton.

First thin coat on the “working man” bamboo rod. The silk threads instantly went clear. Personally I am digging the thread color wasabi. One step closer to finishing and more importantly fishing this beauty.

The sucker creek slayer is all done. This is an interesting little 3 weight blank. Coming in at a whopping 4 feet, this little guy will help you get into the tough cover spots to land some small creek beauties. Definitely one of the more interesting builds I have done lately. It’s awesome to think outside the box and the possibilities are truest endless when it’s custom.
