This Memorial Day weekend many will head to the lake or the river. If you take your children, please abstain from alcoholic beverages. Plan ahead and assign someone to watch them when they go in the water. Non swimmers should not go in by themselves!
Supervision is the first layer of protection when children are in or near water. 💧
Designate a Water Watcher to help ensure someone is always actively supervising. A Water Watcher should be free from distractions 📱, keep their eyes on the water at all times, and avoid conversations or activities that would take their attention away.
Be sure to rotate Water Watchers every 15–30 minutes ⏱️ to stay alert and focused.
One simple habit...intentional, distraction-free supervision can save lives 💙

Lesson 8 and she's going underwater for toys and loving it. She didn't like being submerged in the water at first, and would tell her mom I was drowning her, lol.Every lesson we'd go under until she became used to it. We made it fun and used toys as a distraction. Swim lessons should not be stressful. We want the kids to enjoy swimming!

One important lesson to teach is to stay away from pool and spa drains. Drains are serious hazards. Hair, limbs, jewelry, and even swimsuits can get caught, creating a dangerous situation in seconds. ⚠️

Just a glimpse of one of our lessons this week. We teach when you get tired flip onto your back and kick to the side.
Isn't she cute? Make sure to practice blowing bubbles in the bath tub before and after lessons. Teach kids to hum as they blow the bubbles underwater. Make it fun!
