When I started my booktok in 2023, I discovered indie authors, and that changed my entire life. Literally.

I began doing livestreamed interviews—and recorded ones, too—affectionately calling it “Literarily Indie”.

This weekend I was looking at something (a super secret announcement is coming next week about that🤭), and I was curious about ‘where are they now?’

So, I went through every one of my interviews and looked to see what upcoming releases were coming out by some of my favorite authors that I’ve interviewed.

is a powerhouse in so many ways. From the wondrous world she creates to the traditional deals she’s sealed, I recommend all of her books! But mermaids will always be my favorite.

What’s a birthday without books!? I went on a Maine & New Hampshire indie bookstore crawl this weekend and grabbed some I’ve been looking forward to!

Final bookstore of the weekend! This was the biggest that we visited and I got one more book (haul coming later this week!)

It’s nestled in downtown Manchester and they had an array of bookish merchandise + books, which is always my favorite thing to see.

Did you visit any bookstores during this long weekend?

Opening a combo bar (with coffee, too!) & bookstore is my life’s dream and it was so cool to visit one!

It’s no secret that I definitely don’t want to stay in Connecticut for the rest of my life and I’d like to move down south. Right now we’re eyeing North Carolina but we won’t be moving until for a few more years.

That being said, I’d love to open my own bookstore bar in our new state, and continue to be a counselor as my side hustle✌️

I have been wanting to come here since I saw the announcement that it was coming soon! So, as a start to my birthday weekend, we stopped for a coffee and a book. I chose The Ballad of Falling Dragons because I absolutely LOVED When the Moon Hatched🌙🐣

The owner and the employees are so lovely—and their coffee!? The Enchanted Curse is probably one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. And their curated selection is wonderful—with spotlights on local authors!
