Hi friends. This isn’t an update I expected to post, but I think it’s time.

The long and short is… this doesn’t bring me joy anymore. I don’t feel like I should have a bookstagram if I’m not, well, bookstagramming. Or reviewing.

I barely open this app. It’s too much to keep up with multiple accounts. And I don’t have the engagement here that I used to.

I enjoy TikTok more with where I’m at in life so that’s where I’ll be. You can follow me oopsanothersidequest if you want to keep in contact & see updates.

TW: infertility, depression

The main takeaway of this post is I’m sorry.

Finding words to describe what’s been going on is hard. I’m depressed, stressed out, and anxious. But as far as reading is concerned, I just can’t right now.

That’s terrifying to say. I found myself again in 2023 through reading and have made so many friends that I’m grateful for. It’s always been an escape but I haven’t been able to pick up a book lately, even DCC which I recently fell in love with.

After our first retrieval didn’t work, my heart broke into a million little pieces and I haven’t been able to put it back together. The emotional pain and pressure of infertility has been detrimental. It feels like my life is on hold while everyone else’s is moving forward.

I don’t say any of this for pity. I say it to bring light to what this struggle can do to a person and what it’s doing to me personally.

I would love to ARC read for my author friends but I can’t promise reviews right now and that’s not fair either, so I won’t be requesting any more for the time being.

I won’t be posting on here but I’m trying to lean into new hobbies to distract myself as much as possible. I spend most of my time on TT oopsanothersidequest if you want to follow there.

When I started my booktok in 2023, I discovered indie authors, and that changed my entire life. Literally.

I began doing livestreamed interviews—and recorded ones, too—affectionately calling it “Literarily Indie”.

This weekend I was looking at something (a super secret announcement is coming next week about that🤭), and I was curious about ‘where are they now?’

So, I went through every one of my interviews and looked to see what upcoming releases were coming out by some of my favorite authors that I’ve interviewed.
