Shelton Community Pool Project

We’re incredibly excited to invite everyone to our GROUNDBREAKING ceremony Saturday, April 11th, 2026 at 3:00 pm. We can’t believe such a big step is finally coming to fruition! We hope you’ll join us in celebrating!

We continue to be incredibly grateful for past and present community members that love our community; thank you Owen Brown for nominating the Shelton Pool Project for a grant through Apple.

Things are happening! BIG thank you to Shelton village workers for removing and disposing of several trees in preparation of our new pool site!

BIG update! Congratulations to Hackel Construction out of Ord on being awarded the bid to construct our pool. The village received 5 bids and the board awarded Hackel Construction the bid at $3,600,000.
Hackel comes to us with great experience by constructing pools in Ord, Blue Hill, Callaway, Cozad, and Cambridge's existing pools. Check them out here!
Next steps include meeting with Hackel and gathering their timeline and putting finishing touches on elements of our design.

Shelton Community Pool Project received a $15,000 Arthur Klinkacek Community Enrichment grant from the Kearney Area Community Foundation to help them build a new pool for the community.
