Finally got out!
So I've been fighting bottoming out nitrates and then a small to medium cyano outbreak. I started dosing ammonia again, this time a solution with lab-grade urea mixed in! I'm up to 25 ml a day, dosed slow with a doser in the beginning of the sump over a 10 to 12 hour light period. I also upped my flow and added a couple of gyre pumps to the mix due to the SPS colonies getting large. I may break the colonies up into more manageable sizes to keep good flow around them. Also, I'm not a ChemiClean fan, so I did three doses of the Tropic Marin Cyo-Control, a bacterial additive with zeolite, which seemed to really help, and the ammonia/urea dosing. I'm now holding a steady 5 ppm of nitrate!

Day 1 of Reefapalooza is packed! 🌊 Saturday kicks off with Reef Boss Entry at 10:00 AM before the show room floor officially opens at 11:00 AM.
We have an amazing lineup of speakers and workshops all afternoon. Make sure to catch Julian’s speaker session at 1:00 PM—always a massive highlight! Right after, head over to the live Aquascaping Contest at 1:30 PM to see some incredible MarcoRocks creations come to life. 🪸
Don’t forget, the Kids Zone runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and you’ll want to stick around for the raffle at 4:00 PM (you must be present to win!). The floor closes at 6:00 PM. See you out there!
