Question! How are you when it comes to waiting? For most of us we don't like to hear, wait. We want to keep moving, keep going, keep doing. Last night's verse was from Psalms 27: 14 which says.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
David a very familiar person in the Bible had his season of waiting. He was anointed king at a young age but had to wait before stepping in the role of king. In the waiting process David had his ups and downs as years passed. He beat a 9ft giant, he won many battles, he also was chased with death threats to his life. He had his share of troubles. David understood what it meant to wait for the next or better season of life to come. When God puts you in a time of waiting how do you handle it? Do you complain or learn? A farmer prepares the ground, plants the seed and fertilizes it. Then wait's to harvest the crop. But in waiting with God we can learn a few things if we're willing to pay attention. In waiting we learn patience. We may wait for months or years before a prayer is answered that can only come at the right time. Waiting takes courage as the verse says be strong and take heart. Before God answers our prayers, or changes our situation he may need to change us on the inside. Our hearts, minds, or thinking may need to adjust before God answers. Also waiting allows certain things to line up in order to come at the right time. David learned it was important to wait as we see he said it twice in this verse. If we run ahead of God we get out of his plan for us. When we look at David's life we see the benefits of waiting. Waiting on God is not doing anything. When we wait we put our trust in God. In waiting we can get closer to God. In waiting God teaches us new things and what we need to know for the next step in life. Chapter 27 shows us what David did. David saw the Lord as light, help in daily life, salvation, the one who forgives and saves from sin. David saw God as his strong power, the one who gave hope, help in fear, loneliness. All David wanted was to be in God's house, and see the beauty of God. When we choose to look at the beauty of God by allowing Jesus to guide us we stay close to him in any season of life. David finished life strong and so can we when we wait on God. Hope this helps. If I can pray for you in your season of waiting let me know. Have a great week in the Lord.

This past Saturday night our verse was from 2 Timothy 1:7 which says.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self - discipline.
This verse gives us a lot to chew on. First we see it's God that gives. It's not what we make up or what we work for but it's God that gives. Second this verse tells us what God doesn't give. Fear and Timidity. Timidity means shy, nervous, or lack of courage. These things come from ourselves or the enemy working on our emotions. When you're trying to make major decisions in life, do your emotions get the best of you? Are the decisions chaotic with your mind jumping around? Maybe you're fearful or anxious. Know this is not from God. God brings peace and calmness in our decisions when they are God's plan for us. The enemy or our emotions will keep us stirred up fearful and anxious but God will keep you settled and confident. The third thing this verse tells us is what God does give. Power; power to keep your cool, power to live the life he wants, power to be the person God wants you to be. He gives love. The ability to see people as God sees people. To be willing to help those that are in need. Self- discipline. The ability to stand firm and live the God centered life you were made for. We are given power, love, and self - discipline to point people to God not for our benefit. If you want life to be more meaningful, more fulfilling, more energized let God in it. God gives us his spirit to have these qualities. These qualities that help us live life to the fullest only come from God and only are best used for God. But to have his spirit , his power, his love, his self- discipline you must give your life to Jesus. When accepting Jesus as your Saviour then and only then can you fully see these things at their best. I can answer the question that goes through all of our minds at some point. If I let Jesus save me and I live for him can my life be better? Does this really work? The answer? YES, YES, YES!!!! How do you find out? Pray. I even suggest getting on your knees and praying. Pray and see what happens. Hope this gives you something to think about this week.
Have a good week.

Saturday's verse was from Psalms 107:7 which says.
He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
When this verse was written it was in rejoicing of what God had done for his people. God's people had quit following God, they had been living how they wanted to. God warned and told them there would be consequences if they chose to do their will not his but they refused to listen. God allowed another nation of people to come in and not just take over the land but to scatter God's people all over in distant towns and cities. The people with no true home anymore wandered around hungry, thirsty, tired. But God's people called out to God in prayer and confessed their wrong. God forgives them and he allows them to come back home and take back their homeland once again. Verse 7 above is rejoicing in the fact that God led them on the straight path back to a better life. This verse speaks to us today as well. Even though we don't have to worry about another nation of people taking us prisoner and scattering us to a distant land we still can have things in life make us feel like we're distant from God. God will allow things to come in our life for his greater purpose. When we live the way we want to, against God's will for our life, also known as sin, he can allow things to happen to turn us back to the straight path. Also think about a time when life was great, and a very hard thing came in your life. It's like the rug was pulled out from under your feet leaving you laying flat on your back. It's the thing you didn't see coming that caught you off guard. So the trials or hardships that come to us can be from our wrong doing that catches up with you or life's surprises. When we are in this place we can find ourselves not even thinking about God or wondering why. We may even ask where are you God or don't feel like he cares. But as we see in the life of his people in scripture God is in the business of using life's trouble for his glory. When we have trouble God has a plan in it. We can't see it at first because we are distracted by the situation. But just like God's people in scripture when we call out to him, seek him, something amazing begins to happen. We begin to feel his presence, and we're led to a better place in life. In our difficulties we must decide if we will follow God or ourselves. Following God is where we can be brought closer to the one who holds the key to our life, the one that forgives us of all wrong, the one that will restore our relationship back to the right place with himself. That one is Jesus. Jesus grieved, he hurt, experienced pain, suffering, he experienced being broken hearted. The difficulties of life are a test of our faith. We can go through life wandering, thirsty, hungry, exhausted by trying to be happy by our standards. But it always leaves us wanting. Life can fall apart leaving us hurt not knowing where to turn. In our verses above it tells us where to turn. Turn to Jesus. When we call out to him he will hear you and will lead you to the straight path to happiness in his plan for you. Jesus is
The only way to heaven John 14:6
Satisfies your hunger in life John 6: 33,35
Satisfies your thirst in life John 4: 10-14
Gives you the right kind of rest Matthew 11: 28-30
The great thing is he offers a better life, and eternity to anyone who will call out to him. Do you need relief from something today? Call out to Jesus. Pray until something happens.

Memorial Day. A time to remember.
The US was founded on freedom. Founders of our great nation broke away from British rule to form the United States of America. But it came with great cost as many gave their life to start our country. Through the years men and women have given their lives to keep us free. Today is a day set aside to remember the fallen that allows you and me to live freely. Saturday night's verse was John 15:13 which says.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
This verse reminds us that the laying down of one's life is the ultimate act of love. The freedom we have is due to many that laid down their life for others. The Bible also tells of one who gave the ultimate act of love and sacrifice, Jesus. Jesus came as a man and after falsely being accused and sentenced to death on a cross, took every wrong, sin, that has or will be committed to an old wooden cross. He was nailed to it, taking all the pain and punishment that went with the death penalty and all the weight of sin so we wouldn't have to. All we have to do is repent, confess, and believe in the name of Jesus and we are saved, sealed, and restored. How do we go on missing loved ones that have died? We give our life to the one that brings peace, comfort, healing to our life. Jesus. When we believe in Jesus we are freed. Life has a way of holding us down. We can get discouraged, depressed, lonely, overcome with grief as well as allowing sin and its consequences rule over us. Has life sapped all your strength and energy? Do what I do. Get alone, get still, get quiet and let Jesus speak to you by praying. When life gets the better of me I do this and almost instantly I feel better. Jesus gave his life so we can be free as well. Every person has a body and a soul. Men and women gave their lives so our physical bodies could be free, Jesus gave his life so our souls can be free. Freedom deep down comes only in accepting Jesus. Are you tired, worn out? Are you in need of relief? Just pray, seek Jesus, ask his help and he will be there. Hope each of you has had a great memorial day. Look forward to seeing you at the track.

Hey folks just wanted to give an update on Stephanie. So if you're clueless to what is happening let me catch you up. A while back in a trip to the ER with the stomach bug they found a sisk on one of Stephanie's ovaries. It was a large sisk but after further examination the doctor determined it was not serious and left to keep watch on it. In a recent doctor visit the sisk had gotten bigger, which leads us to today. She went in for surgery to remove the sisk and ovaries this morning. Surgery went great and she is now at home resting. Sore and in some pain but doing good. Thanks for those of you that prayed. God is great.
