Take a look at the highlights from our recent training event hosted in partnership with HEN Nozzles at the Fairfield Regional Fire School in Connecticut!
Participants spent the day building critical fireground skills through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and live-fire demonstrations, including:
🔥 2 hours of classroom training
🔥 1.5 hours of hands-on hose and nozzle mechanics
🔥 2 hours of flowing and moving as two-person hose teams in a realistic training environment
🔥 1.5 hours of live-fire thermal rebound demonstrations, showcasing the importance of proper stream placement and application
A sincere thank you to Fairfield Regional Fire School, HEN Nozzles, and all the students who made this event a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to train together and appreciate the support of our partners.

CASE STUDY: Two Rooms on Fire with a Vent 🔥
In this live burn demonstration, the HEN Blade 160 was used to attack a two-room fire with one room already vented. The goal was to evaluate water efficiency, stream control, and overall fireground performance under realistic interior conditions.
The Challenge:
Vented fires can intensify rapidly, creating dangerous conditions for interior crews. Firefighters need a nozzle that provides power, reach, and consistent stream quality without sacrificing visibility or operational safety.
The Result
Operating at 160 GPM @ 50 PSI, the Blade delivered:
• Efficient flow with low nozzle reaction
• A wide, cohesive stream for full-room coverage
• Improved cooling and gas contraction to support safer interior operations

Firefighters, Looking to find fire or superheated areas faster?
Join our webinar on the power of Survey Mode!
Investigative colorization of superheated surfaces starting at 150°F / 65°C.
This helps support earlier threat identification.
âś… Important:
The absence of colorized areas does not indicate the absence of heat!
This valuable investigative mode is useful during size-up, overhaul, and other areas. However, it is not recommended for search purposes or in high heat situations above 300 degrees Fahrenheit/150 degrees Celsius.
There are multiple factors can prevent areas from being colorized even when using Survey Mode.

Split-Second Decision Making!
In the video below, we’ve compiled several moments to highlight just how little time firefighters have to identify objects and hazards in real conditions.
The key takeaway? Training before the incident can significantly improve on-scene decision making.
How?
By training firefighters to recognize:
* Objects
* Hazard locations
* And key areas in thermal imagery. By using a thermogram (thermal image captured from their device), trainees learn to interpret images that lose detail progressively as the fire environment intensifies.
Why it matters?
* Faster hazard recognition
* More accurate situational awareness
* Better decisions under pressure
AND-Anyone can implement this type of training!
This is a valuable program for any organization. If you don’t have enough thermal imaging media, check out our YouTube videos for example objects and hazards you can use for training.

This week will we focus on 🎥 Downloading Videos from an Attack PRO VRS (Quick Tips):
If you own or use an Attack PRO VRS and want to download recorded videos directly from the device, here are a few helpful reminders to avoid common issues:
âś… 1) Make sure the USB connection tool is fully inserted
The connection tool must be fully seated to properly connect to the device.
Tip: If the cord has come unlaced from the side of the connection tool, the tool may not insert correctly—this can prevent full connection.
✅ 2) Confirm you see the “USB connected” screen.
When properly connected, you’ll see a screen showing Attack PRO and a USB connection symbol.
✅ 3) If it doesn’t show USB—reinsert and press firmly
If the device powers on like it’s just being turned on (instead of showing USB connected):
Reinsert the connection tool
Press firmly
Wait for the correct USB connected screen to appear.
âś… 4) Locate the video folders on your PC
Once connected, you should see two folders:
Attack PRO
Attack PRO M
➡️ Open Attack PRO M and you’ll find a folder containing all recorded videos.
Drag that folder to your PC
Wait for the download to complete
âś… 5) Delete files correctly + safely eject
Delete the downloaded files from the device
Empty your recycle/trash bin
Then use “Safely Disconnect/Eject” before unplugging
⚠️ 6) Don’t try to view “grayed out” files
Files that appear grayed out with no preview image were likely created during recording, but the end user powered the device off before stopping.
This corrupts the file, and it won’t play/view properly. ➡️ Always stop recording before powering off.
We hope these tips help with your TIC use!
