I hate having photos taken of myself, and I photograph people for a living. So when my couples say “we’re not photogenic” or “we’re really awkward in front of the camera” I completely understand. I’m not sure there’s anyone out there who feels totally chill in front of a camera tbh.

My goal is to make you feel like you’re meandering around a park or city street with your buddy (who just so happens to be taking pictures of you). We’ll chat and joke around, and I’ll whip my camera up to grab a few pictures mid dumb joke. I’ll make you grab your partner and sprint towards me. Barrel roll on the ground like alligators. The usual stuff.

But trust me, you won’t feel like you’re at your school picture day, because I would super hate that if I was on the other side of the camera myself

I will always love a good detail shot, even more when I can make it less of a “flat lay” and more of an environmental detail shot. Totally not stressful at all to handle someone’s wedding rings on a sandy beach, in case you were wondering.

The detail photos usually happen right away when I get to a wedding, but recently I’ve loved doing a reception detail shot as well. Wet naps from your BBQ dinner, your favorite b**r, a paper fan, maybe a custom coozie you had made - more chaotic and less what you might send to your grandparents if you know what I mean. I need to do a post on that soon but that involves finding more pictures from my hard drives so it may be a bit lol

We had so much fun at Crossroads Flea thank goodness we still have two more fleas in 2026!!! We’ll see you October 11 AND November 8 in the Crossroads 🫡

We might be cooking up something special for our fall photo booth, who knows. Only way to find out is to waltz into the Field Studio!!

This summer has been “slow response summer” for sure. June was a big travel month and July has been puppy month! We’ve been fostering the sweetest mom and her nine babies, so needless to say I’ve been offline more than usual.

Thankfully everyone is settled in just in time for the start of busy season! Please expect some cute puppy photos in the next few weeks. And if you’re looking to adopt, I might know of some babies who need homes soon!

We’ve had lots of head-out-the-window time this week and it’s been so needed. Forgive me if I’m slow responding, early summer is for travel and outside dogs 💛

More from this one because I couldn’t help myself. When the location is this good and the couple is this easy to photograph, you end up with way too many favorites.

Not a poser? Good, because neither am I. My sessions are less “stand here and smile” and more “let’s just wander around together”. Fair warning though: I will absolutely be chasing you through a field to get the shot.
