We are officially expanding—and apparently, we looked around at everything already on our to-do list and thought, “You know what this needs? An entire house to fix up.” 😂
Along with continuing to improve the barn, we are working on transforming part of the property into a classroom, bathrooms and a welcoming indoor space for our students and families. This is a huge step for Taproot Barns and will allow us to offer more lessons, camps, educational activities, events and opportunities throughout the year—even when Kansas weather decides to be Kansas weather!
Our dream is to create a place where kids can learn, grow in confidence, build friendships, experience farm life and feel loved. Taproot Barns has always been about so much more than horses. This farm is our ministry, and we truly believe God continues to open doors for us to serve more children and families.
Of course, those open doors currently need paint, repairs, supplies, cleaning and possibly a small army. 😂
We would be incredibly grateful for anyone who would like to help bring this vision to life! We welcome donations of materials, supplies, furniture, financial contributions or good old-fashioned helping hands. Whether you are talented at painting, plumbing, construction, organizing, cleaning—or simply supervising while holding a cup of coffee (my dad says he has that job covered😆) we can probably find a job for you!
Every donated item, dollar and hour of work will help us turn these spaces into something special for our Taproot Barns families. No contribution is too small, and every bit of support means more than we can say.
We are excited, slightly overwhelmed and very ready to see what God does with this next chapter. Thank you to everyone who has supported Taproot Barns, believed in our mission and helped us grow. We couldn’t do this without our amazing barn family and community. ❤️
If you would like to donate, volunteer or learn more about what we need, please send us a message!
Now…who wants to grab a paintbrush? We pay in gratitude, horse kisses and probably snacks. 🐴😂

If you’ve ever been to Taproot Barns, chances are you’ve met Moakie… or more accurately, Moakie has decided whether or not you were worthy of meeting her.
Our tiny, sassy, opinionated little queen turned 6 today! 🥳
She may be little, but don’t let that fool you—Moakie is pretty convinced she owns Taproot Barns. The only ones she’s willing to share management duties with are the barn cats.
And apparently she’s been perfecting the whole “My Little Pony” thing since DAY ONE. Just look at baby Moakie! 🥹
Happy 6th Birthday to the pony with enough personality for a horse three times her size. We wouldn’t have her any other way!

For riders with ADHD—or even those who simply feel like their minds are constantly going 100 miles an hour—the saddle can feel like one of the few places where everything finally gets quiet.
The to-do lists.
The unfinished thoughts.
The overthinking.
The constant mental noise.
For a little while… it all fades into the background.
Horseback riding isn’t a cure for ADHD or a replacement for treatment, but it makes sense why so many riders describe feeling calmer and more focused around horses.
When you ride, you have to be present.
You’re feeling your horse’s movement.
Adjusting your balance.
Watching their ears and body language.
Making tiny decisions every second.
Communicating with an animal who can feel the smallest change in you.
There isn’t much room left for your brain to be everywhere else when you’re working together with a 1,000-pound animal. ❤️
Maybe that’s part of what makes horses so special.
Sometimes the world gets quiet when the only thing you have to think about is the horse underneath you.
Riders—does this happen to you?
Does getting in the saddle quiet your mind, help you focus, or just make everything feel a little more manageable?
I’d love to hear what riding does for you. 🐴❤️

One of my favorite parts of our fun shows is seeing all the smiles! 🩷
Our next fun show will be in September, and it will be the final show of our Buckle Series. We can’t wait to see everyone back in the arena for one more day of fun, learning, and making memories!
We might just do a dance after the show.

Red traded in the saddle for glitz and glam this Friday! 🤎
He got to be the handsome model for a beautiful photo session with an incredibly sweet family and a talented photographer. It was so much fun getting to watch everything come together from the sidelines while I was on horse handler duty.
I think Red definitely enjoyed all the extra attention! (TREATS 😉)🐴📸
some days I stop and laugh because I genuinely don’t know how I fit it all in. 🤪
Between the barn, lessons, photography, boarding horses, camps, events, creating new experiences, answering messages, homeschooling my boys, and dreaming up the next crazy idea… my days are full from the moment my feet hit the floor until my head hits the pillow.
People ask me all the time, “How do you do it?” The truth is… I love it.
I’m one of those people who always has another idea. My mind never really shuts off. I’m constantly thinking of new ways to make the barn more special, create memories for families, give kids experiences they’ll never forget, or simply make someone smile. I don’t struggle to fill my day—I struggle to fit all the ideas God keeps placing on my heart into one lifetime.
The “why” behind all of it has never been about being busy. It’s about people.
It’s watching a nervous child find confidence on the back of a horse. It’s seeing families laugh together. It’s giving someone a place that feels like home. It’s creating moments people will remember long after the day is over. It’s building something that points back to God’s goodness and using the gifts He’s given me to serve others.
I don’t always get it right. I’m tired some days. I fall behind on messages. I wonder if I’m taking on too much. But then I see a smile, hear a laugh, or watch someone accomplish something they never thought they could… and I’m reminded exactly why I keep going.
This isn’t just a business to me. It’s my calling.
And as long as God keeps opening doors and filling my heart with ideas, I’ll keep saying yes. ❤️
